Hi all,

As you may have seen, we announced this morning two new leadership updates to support Udemy’s next phase of growth.

Firstly, Eren Bali will be stepping into a new role as Head of Innovation, where he’ll lead our efforts to harness AI and other emerging technologies to shape the future of learning. At the same time, we are pleased to welcome Ozzie Goldschmied as our new Chief Technology Officer, taking the helm of our Product and Engineering organization as we accelerate progress on AI-powered learning and skills development.

As we’ve discussed in recent calls, AI continues to have a seismic impact on the future of work, and Udemy has an unparalleled opportunity along with you our instructor community to provide millions of people with access to dynamic skill-building at scale.

We believe that with this new leadership structure combining Eren’s vision and entrepreneurial drive with Ozzie’s decades of experience scaling enterprise-grade platforms we can change even more lives and continue being responsive to emerging technologies for the AI era and beyond.

My question is why did we get sales the first week of this month, then sales died completely? I am scared.

I would like to know what impact AI have on our sales as my reviews are high but my sales are dropping every month, at this stage it feels not worth my time creating more courses. Did something change in Udemy marketing system?

Hi SoyMarketer,

I completely understand your concern about the sales drop-off.

We're currently running price tests across the platform (about 3 weeks in) to optimize pricing and improve conversion to subscriptions. These tests naturally create sales fluctuations, but this isn't a reflection of your course quality or demand.

Our primary focus is on building the pathway from course sales to subscription upgrades, where the data takes longer to appear at the instructor level. We're learning fast and iterating quickly.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this testing phase!

Thanks for answering @RyanJaress. Does the subscriptions plan have an affiliate program? Can I promote that and get an extra source of revenue besides my own courses?

We are in the process of enabling affiliate links for personal plan - will come back when that is fully instrumented
