New Month New Theme: Udemy Success Features!

Hey there instructors!

It’s now October and that means there’s a new theme for the month, Udemy Success Features. Udemy has a ton of various tools and features that can help you throughout your instructor journey. Whether you’re just getting started or are looking for more ways to connect with your learners. We have something that might be useful for you.

It's only Udemy success, but not instructors!!!

Hi Everyone,

Change is the only constant, and marketplaces are exacting. Our greatest strength is each other. Together we can all succeed, or divided we will fall. I know that's a platitude. I know it's a cliche. I know it's hackeneyed. But it's also true. If Udemy is an amazing platform with amazing courses, people will come. If Udemy is a horrible platform with horrible courses, the entire platform will collapse.

I have seen some great changes to the platform. Improvements are happening. I have also been working hard to create great classes. If we all do this, we will all succeed.

This note is to inspire everyone. While changes in instructor pay have been challenging for instructors, I imagine most of us, if not all of us, became instructors because we love helping people, sharing knowledge, and improving the lives of others. Focus on helping students, on providing immense value to our customers, the students, and we will all do great.

Also, let's all focus on what can we build that can become a trillion dollar company. If Udemy becomes a trillion dollar company, we will all profit.

To improve my online courses, the tools I've been using are to (1) network with other instructors and learn best practices, (2) to increase my marketing, (3) to use the social share link that Udemy offers, and (4) to network with Udemy staff and share ideas about making Udemy even better.

What is Udemy's IPOD?

Let's stay positive, deliver value, think big, and answer the question, "What is Udemy's IPOD?" What is the service and/or feature that will make Udemy a billion dollar company. That answer exists. All we have to do is discover it.

Maybe you are the one with the answer.

Sounds like "trickle-down" for the Instructor corps. I'm guessing that there won't be many Instructors who'll be eager to hop aboard that altruistic bandwagon.

the most common query on my courses is ‘Is there a PDF for this entire course?’ In other words they enrolled hoping for a book, maybe to follow along with.

@RyanJaress I'm excited about the recent AI role play feature. It’s a powerful way to help learners practice real-world scenarios and I know it's something corporate clients ask for a lot!

I’m wondering if there’s a way to see feedback on AI role plays for each course. I’d love to know how much time learners are spending on them, how they’re finding the experience, and what I can do to improve the questions and setup.

I’d like to see that as well. I was pretty amazed how well role play works if you put lots of background story into the engine. I wish it were the 3D avatars though,
