Tl;DR - "Why should I learn about succeeding on Instagram/Youtube/Linkedin from Udemy/Coursera, a subsciption based learning platform?" ( Genuine curiosity after the SEO series)

Read the questions. Failed to understand the goal. Wouldn't publishing beginner to intermediate guidance for 4 known platforms Insta, Youtube, TikTok and LinkedIn do the job without need for any surveys?

The incentives for bringing back traffic here under the subscription model are non existent. And the rest of social information for instructors is already available on our profile pages. So asking it again seems odd?

Not bitter, genuinely confused about upside as an instructor.

This is a great initiative! I think social media can be really helpful for instructors who want to reach new learners and promote their courses. I will definitely take the survey and share my feedback. Looking forward to seeing what new resources and topics Udemy comes up with!

Thanks for sharing this. I appreciate the focus on strengthening social education for instructors, though I do want to raise a point that’s been consistent for several years. When I tag @UDEMY on LinkedIn — usually to celebrate learners who proudly share their certificates — there’s never any engagement or acknowledgement.

I’ve raised this with the social media team before, but it hasn’t improved. This does make it difficult to feel confident about Udemy’s future approach to social support for instructors and learners.

I hope this new initiative includes a more responsive and visible presence on social platforms, as it would make a meaningful difference to the instructor community.

Agreed - those are great questions that should be addressed (understanding the motivation). And I think Udemy should incorporate a few more lines to understand the constraints we are facing - for example, is Udemy your side hustle or a full-time job? How much time do you have for creating the content, whether it is for Udemy or SM? etc.

After all, most of us joined Udemy because the promise was: instructors create content, Udemy takes care of marketing. Now, when the game changed, it seems we all should have started with building SM first.
