Updates from the Udemy Community Team

Hi Instructors,

With the holidays around the corner, we wanted to provide the Instructor Community with a few updates.

First, we are making some internal changes to the Community Team. You will be seeing more of @jackie_burbank
and @KatieBent
in the community as your Udemy advocates. @Lili
will be rotating off of Udemy Community management. During this transition period, please continue to reach out to your main moderators: @Abbie
and @ElianaC
.

Also please be advised that Udemy HQ is closed on the following dates. You may expect delays due to limited availability from the Udemy Community team:

  • December 24 / December 25
  • December 31 / January 1

The Udemy Support Team will still be available to assist and you may also visit the Udemy Help Center to read through our knowledge articles for more information.

Please let us know if you have any questions in the comments below.

Thank you!

Course submitted for review! Hope we get published before 2021 :)

  • Thanks for everything in 2020 and look forward to healthy growth in 2021 x

  • I hope that 2021 will bring all the best for us. UDEMY will be the perfect guide in next year...

  • Thank you to all the diligent and light hearted energy that the Udemy team brnig to this communuty forum and the Udemy platform in general.

  • I am a prospective new teacher with Udemy. My tutorial video is still under review. I had been guided by one Ana on the things I have to do to pass the Quality test. Now I have uploaded my first video in the Curriculum section, and I yet to submit it for review. I need more clarification on the curriculum section.

    1. Am I supposed to enter all the courses I have to teach before I will be passed there or is there a minimum number of courses I am expected to enter there to be accepted?

    2. How long does it take for my course to get published after I had submitted it for a review?

  • we are looking forward to great 2021!

    Hi @MgbemereDan1977
, I'll be happy to answer your questions.

    1. A standard Udemy course is video-based. Courses must have at least 30 minutes of video content and at least 5 lectures or learning modules to pass our minimum requirements. Additional teaching tools (like assignments, quizzes, and coding exercises, etc) can be added to create a rich learning experience for students.

In order to ensure that students have great learning experiences, we also have a Quality Review Process that every course goes through. For more information on this please click here.

If you're planning to upload multiple courses, you don't need to submit them all at once. You can complete the curriculum of one course at a time and send it over for review so that it can be published accordingly.

    2. The Quality Review Process takes approximately 2 business days. This may vary depending on the number of courses in the pipeline.

    Hope this helps!
