February is almost here and we will be covering an important topic to Udemy success, SEO! Making sure that your content is being viewed by the right people is important to your success. We’d love for you to stop by and network with fellow instructors and discuss SEO topics and strategies.
What is a virtual coffee chat?
The community virtual coffee chats are hour-long informal networking sessions held via Zoom. During these sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to network with and get to know other Udemy instructors worldwide.
How does it work?
February’s theme is SEO, so for the first 30 minutes, we will discuss various questions and scenarios about how you approach SEO. Then we will open the floor for some questions about your experiences!
How do I sign up?
Glad you asked! You can sign up for the coffee chat here!
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, February 24 at 10:00am PT!
*We understand that this time may not be ideal for all time zones, however, we will change the times of the coffee chat each month to accommodate different locations.
@RyanJaress 👋 I am curious to understand how Google Analytics 4 will affect SEO. Specifically what are the enhancements we can anticipate?
I cannot wait to learn from my fellow instructors. This community is simply the best
Good to hear from experts
Nice to hear that....Great Efforts!!!
For a long time, I wanted to connect with other experienced instructors and ask them questions about improving my teaching method. Or some questions about remote collaboration. I think the time has come, isn't it? 🙂
Now that Bing, and I perhaps Google at some point, will be using AI to create to give consolidated answers to search queries rather than listed/ranked results that you can choose from, I wonder how SEO will evolve... How will we get our content to stand out from the rest?
@Irlon Bing has implemented chatGPT3 and I believe google will implement their ai version soon to search. This is a game changer. I’ve heard Web 3.0 is the next version of the internet, and it is full on artificial intelligence…. not sure when and how it will be implemented.
Great to hear that!
Actually I want to know the future opportunities in SEO field and how we can use and benefit from AI applications.
Whoever creates a udemy course on ai applications as it relates to seo …..whew so relevant….🤑
Yay! I love these coffee chats.
I hope there's a contest giving away a Udemy t-shirt. 😁
Aloha Friday from da 9th Island! 🤙
That is exciting.
This is too late in the night India time, please do post a recording later. Thanks.
Is there going to be a recording? 10:00 PST is 5am for me.
waiting to meet my peers .
I have 2 questions:
1- I signed up and found this by accident. Hoe can I find these announcements about network events? I really don't want to miss it.
2- Will this event help me in creating better content posts?
Hey @RachelS75 I think Udemy team is working on giving us a more ease-to-see/navigate board. It is very important. A board like a car dashboard on the homepage would be very helpful, or a conspicuous button that leads to the board. It would add to the fun.
Oh I like that.
waiting for the event
is there a recording of the seo coffee talk?
I think i missed this meetup, can any one provide me content ?
Shame I missed it, any one to update please or if the meeting was recorded?
Very refreshing meeting😘,thanks
@RyanJaress , @ChrystieV , @Bella and
the rest of Udemy team. You guys are
awesome. Looking forward to some
impactful meetings like this.
Kudos, guys. Thank you.
I was on the meeting and left after 35 minutes, I found no value at all.
Can you share what helped you and you found impactful cause maybe I missed it.
Would love to know 😉
Hey @RachelS75 I think you might be right;
not much juice at the beginning really.
But the second half of the meeting
picked up, and got heated up. I suggest
you watch the recorded version, then.
Although, I noticed I was in two rooms
before the end of the meeting, hope you
were in the right one. The meeting
Anybody know where the recorded version is so we can rewatch? Please and thanks!
Hey @BernardMartin I think it takes few days before it's uploaded. When uploaded, the link would be shared here in the community.
Hi there, please could someone share the link to the SEO coffee chat, assuming it was recorded? Many thanks.
I'm not sure but I've never received replays from a previous meeting so I'd doubt we'll get one, but am not 100% sure.
Also, @Michael_D_Nwaogu , good (and sad for me) to hear you have a good 2nd half meeting, so what was your take-away? I'd love to hear something.
I still suggest we hope the recorded version
gets released, I used to jot things down during most
meetings, but I couldn't yesterday -- I was on
steering listening to it like a podcast, so I'm
hoping to watch it again too, but all the same,
I can still drop some hints to give you a
little clue. I hope we don't distract the community
with this.😊 But all the same, I will be brief.
The second half was majorly Q&A, and some
experienced instructors did justice to the questions
that came up, which were a bit not totally on SEO only.
Besides many talks on choosing both title and
description carefully, some tools that we could leverage on (both free and paid) to optimize result were shared.
A question on instructor appearing on video versus
just voicing over PowerPoint behind the scene
brought us to learn that it is not very advisable
to hide behind the PowerPoint and talk,
but to appear before the camera is more effect;
as most students would love to connect with us,
the instructor, visually -- to boost engagement, of course.
And another discussion about title and
description took us to talking about
considering special terms in your niche
when choosing your words.
And some instructors would say they are not
entertainers but instructor, we learnt that that
perception is not a healthy one. Many students
paid to be entertained. And we don't need to
become a clawn or something as an instructor,
but try to engage in every way you can, entertain.
I know most stuff discussed might not be new to
you, but I find them refreshing.
Trust me, the meeting was not a waste of time.
We all hear something that sticks. For me it was keywords in titles of the course, and aligning the topic with keyword searches of students. There was such a positivity and mutual support among instructors.
Thanks All! Much appreciated.
Thanks for sharing @Michael_D_Nwaogu
No replay yet....I really don't think there will be one....no sure.
You are welcome @RachelS75 .
Let's hope it gets released.
It takes days in most cases,
from my observation.
Anyway, we move!😊
Hi everyone, thank you for your interest in watching the replay of our SEO coffee chat!
We understand that some of you may have missed the event and would like the opportunity to watch it later. However, we believe that protecting the privacy of the people involved in the conversation is of the utmost importance. We want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and opinions, so we decided to not record these anymore. We will continue to record webinars and AMAs as usual.
But don't worry! We will post a summary of the coffee chat to share the biggest takeaways from the session with the rest of the community. I'll make sure to tag everyone who asked for the replay there. 🙂
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Thank you for being a part of our community!
I had a blast. Thank you all for the boost of energy you gave me. It amazes me how much I can absorb as long a I maintain a positive mental attitude and remain open to learning.
Remember: Why are you teaching?
Thanks, Bella, understood and no problem.
Just read Bella's comment above. My apologies.
Do we have the recording of this session that we can watch?
