Also, from my understanding Udemy protects instructor’s content by encoding videos, and has a team which manages a Piracy Detection Program. @AHardin , Thanks for the additional insight. I am considering an LLC but I am not sure it would be worth the trouble. I don't plan to create very many classes and the topic is rather specialized so the pool of interested participants is small. I'll have to do some research. Thanks again and keep in touch. By the way, can instructors message each other through Udemy in a more private setting? The thought just crossed my mind while I was typing.

Yeah... Sounds like a dilemma... from one side you have good marketing idea, but from another side students who can behave unfairly by just downloading resources... When my students ask me about downloadable resources I just reply them that they can enjoy access to may course 24/7 from mobile and desktop 🙂 Kind regards, Andrey

This is a good post, and an excellent reminder for instructors to use their best reviews as motivation, especially because there's such a huge propensity for instructors to dwell on negative reviews, and rarely rejoice their good ones within the instructor community. I'll share my best review this past month, which put a huge smile on my face: "I really enjoyed this class- Alton provided me with exactly what I was looking for, a solid overview of Zero Trust that went well beyond just a surface-level-understanding, without committing me to several days worth of training. Alton has a very comfortable and relatable teaching style, and his overall content organization, flow, use of impactful graphics, inclusion of additional "Resources", and the key-concepts excerpts were all extremely helpful. In addition, I really liked the way that he presented the fundamentals of Zero Trust first, and then followed it up with detailed sections providing additional levels of information and understanding. Finally, I found the ZTA Use Cases at the end a great way to wrap up and pull together all that he had presented earlier in the class. Definitely one of the best online classes I've ever taken!" When you're feeling down or unmotivated, read some of your best reviews as a way to uplift yourself.

I'd recommend performing some competitor analysis, since you're courses are very short at 1 and 2.5 hours in very highly competitive categories with lots of excellent, comprehensive and lengthy courses. I'd also look for ways to improve your audio, as your courses would benefit greatly from better audio, meaning better a microphone with clear audio, consistent audio levels, and no crackling noise. Also, search the instructor community forums regarding free coupons; you'll find that using free coupons isn't a recommended way to gain traction, as most enrollments are bots and students who have not intention of ever paying for a course.

Greetings, I feel it's a very important topic. As I am new on udemy, but on teaching online, I was searching on YouTube how to find the url of my published course on udemy. And you ppl. Know what stuff I found on YouTube. Hundereds of videos in which there were a lot of tricks to download the udemy courses and videos for free. I feel this is an era of online work and it will increase with time. Aa a result, the cyber threat is increased. I suggest udemy must use some more and power full tools for cybersecyrity. It's the concern of alll the online works. Banks are on especial danger. So, udemy must update the pitfalls and leaks so that no one could scam it. Thousands of hardworking ppl work goes just free of cost. There is no ethics in Scammets. Please consider my suggestion. And at the same time, if someone can tell me where can I find the url of my first published case with students. Because the url I received after my course was published, it plays the while course. No, there's no such feature for in-video pop-up quiz questions on Udemy; however, you can create quizzes, and have them linked to specific lectures, where if a student gets the answer wrong, they know which lecture it refers to.

How about you make it more interesting by using AI to solve some leadership problems and also offer how you would solve the same problem without AI? Ai is the future even if we like it or not and until robots will replace human force people that learn ai will replace humans that have no idea how to use it. I think AI added to your course can create that niche that you are looking for. Good luck!

@Justin-A, with around a decade of teaching experience and over eight years on Udemy, I've never analyzed my course material with a reading level score. With that said, you do have to tailor your content to a global audience on Udemy, expecting that a fair amount of students will be ESL. For me, that means breaking down things so they're easily understandable, not using any overly complex vocabulary, explicitly defining terms, as needed, and adding edited close caption subtitles. My advice to you is to not re-record your course. After you publish it, look at the student ratings and reviews, and use that as feedback to tweak and improve your course over time.

@ReyanshKhargaI'm not sure what people who have newer Macs with 16:10 do, but it's a quick and simple solution rather than having to adjust aspect ratios in software. And it's nice to have multiple monitors when recording so you can have notes, additional information, etc., off the recording screen.

hi Jack, To answer the second part of your question; Udemy will rank you well if you are going micro niche on already well established courses. What i mean by rank well is that it will show your course as NEW with already well established courses in first two or three courses, By going micro niche i mean dont create anymore course on how to do SEO. Instead create a course on How to do SEO for Car rentals/ How to do SEO for Solo Traveller. Give your students resources, tell them where to go, direct them, lead them. Zoom in deep and find the micro niche which people are searching for. Search for popular topics in Tools section of your instructor dashboard on your left hand side. Hope this helps. Regards Ayesha.

Thank you, @Bella Bella. Let me see if I can edit the reply later. But you could also delete the course from the platform. I see it as a problem for everyone who would benefit from it. I follow my advice, and I'm doing great. It was my birthday, and I remembered that horrible incident just as my research into Longevity Medicine got much deeper, and I am creating something more impactful. We also must re-think how we engage in society and not just accept anonymous attacks. Intelligent discourse is critical. Do you know if a person had a fight with a boyfriend, or just got denied a job, or anything else that same day, that framed the action? The 'hater' comment has a little projection involved because I remembered that when I was deciding whether to launch another program (not here) that coincided with my birthday. I had horrible customer experiences, and I never, I repeat, NEVER gave anybody a 1-star—especially anyone at my intellectual level. I would be profoundly embarrassed. To give anyone a 1-star, that person would have to be Lucifer.

No, you cannot link a book on your landing page or ask for an email. Both are not allowed on the landing page of your course. However, you can do both in the Bonus Section of your course. You can encourage your students to check out your bonus section but to be honest, I wouldn't mention what is in there explicitly in any email just to be safe. Hope this helps. Thank you,

While there are a lot of courses on ChatGPT already in the Udemy marketplace (and elsewhere), I think the easiest way to get a definitive answer is to reach out to OpenAI. That way you have something in writing from the source since it is OpenAI's terms of service.
