G’day all, I had the most amazing childhood growing up in Tasmania, but I escaped to the mainland to pursue my career and it led me to work for several of the worlds biggest companies. I have quite a diverse skill set. I have worked on the factory floor gaining a trade certificate in Precision Manufacture and I’ve developed Business Strategies in the boardrooms of multinational companies. In between I’ve experience in Production Engineering, Quality Assurance, Integrated Logistics Support, Competitor Intelligence, Management Consulting and Reliability Engineering. I had actively avoided public speaking early in my life, but then I landed a dream job with Boeing. I was the first Lean Manufacturing specialist they had employed in Australia, so I got to learn all about in their factory in Seattle Washington! I then came home and delivered training courses and facilitated Lean workshops. I found I really enjoyed it. I’m exploring another career transition after the most amazing journey I’ve been on recently. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, I then spent 12months in hospital where I was given 24 hours to live several times. I lost the toes off my right foot, 20cm of my bowel, my long and short term memories, my sense of smell, my sense of taste, but not my sense of humour, phew 😅 because laughter really is the best medicine. It’s in remission now and because I survived, I have thrived. Unfortunately the acquired brain injury I suffered during my cancer journey impairs my ability to do the wide thinking needed to develop business strategies, it also causes severe mental fatigue and makes me highly sensitive to noise. This makes working in an office very difficult, which is why I’m exploring Udemy. I’ve created a video which explains this journey https://youtu.be/jtJ6-W1uzZ0 I’ve also written all about it. Because I’d lost my long term memories, I set out on a mighty quest to find them and wrote my autobiography. It emphasised just how important history is, so I’m now writing a series of creative nonfiction history articles and books with a personal connection. You can read all about it on my Author page https://danemccormackauthor.wordpress.com/home I now need to find the right content to create some training courses. I’m also keen to develop some training to better explain Brain Injuries, as they are so difficult to understand, even for the sufferer. I look forward to getting to know you and learning from all of you Cheers, Dane
