I think the key word here is licensed: if you purchase these assets then your license should tell you whether you are allowed to make these assets available for download in your course. Sometimes it helps to speak directly with the creator of the assets about this.

I've had a look at your promo vid, and I can hear and understand you quite well, but there is quite a bit of echo in the audio. What does your recording setup look like? Keep in mind that it is very hard to remove echo or reverb post production without flattening your audio something terrible, so if you can minimize that while you record you will save yourself a ton of pain .

@Kerman what are you using to record your videos with? If you want to use audacity you will have to export the audio component of your video, edit in audacity, and then overlay the edited audio in your video editing software. Alternatively, if you use something like Camtasia or the like, you can do audio editing and specifically noise reduction as part of your editing process all in one go. Now, with all of that said, nothing beats good quality recordings that needs a minimal of editing once you are done with the recording. a Lot of editing, and especially something like noise reduction tends to "flatten" your voice and makes it sound unnatural . So the rule of thumb here is to get the best mic you can afford, set up your recording space to minimize echo and background noises, and do the least amount of sound editing you can get away with. Good quality microphones are very affordable these days, and there are a ton of DIY solutions out there to set up your recording space to cancel out echo/reverb/noise , the trifecta of enemies you deal with when doing home recordings.

@Ahmed_Jendoubi hits the nail squealy on its head. From my experience its absolutely terrible at writing technical articles from scratch, as in you simply cannot trust the content. We know that there are a bunch of popular videos on YT that "teaches "you how to create a Udemy course , "even though you know nothing of the subject", and I'm sure there are courses like that on Udemy already, but its not going to last. ChatGPT grabs information from who knows where, does not even give you the sources it uses, and from personal experience: either gets it wrong completely, contradicts itself from one query to another, or, the most dangerous one of them all, gets it wrong so subtlety that somebody that does not know the subject at hand really REALLY well will not notice. As for creating course outlines its fine, as long as you are prepared and able to supplement the outline if you want to really dive deep into the content you plan on creating as it will invariably be very superficial Its brilliant at writing sales pages and the like yes, but for creating a course? That's a big nope from me.

Very happy to see that Udemy is still growing strong, but my heart goes out to the people affected by the layoffs. Before I became self-employed almost a decade ago I experienced layoffs as an almost yearly occurrence, with this almost permanent sword over everyone's head, and with incredibly difficult decisions from managements side. I remember as part of that management I almost fell into depression with the decisions that had to be made and was one of the main reasons why I decided to strike out on my own. Good luck to everyone good people, and know things always get better eventually, even if it doesn't seem to be the case right at this very moment

Following with interest. Depending on where Udemy goes with its experiment, it can be either really good or really bad for instructors, depending on if Udemy instructors will be enabled to go the same route with their own accredited courses as is the case with Emeritus. Now, if Udemy allows an upsell within the Udemy environment where instructor-led learning can take place and something more than a certificate of completion is earned...that would be beyond awesome for the above average instructor that would be capable of facilitating this .

Good day everybody, Hope I'm not commiiting some horrible fau pas by postin this here, been getting a weird error message when trying to upload videos to my course : Your video upload failed for 1 reason: The request signature we calculated does not match the signature you provided. Check your key and signing method. I've logged a support ticket with Udemy, but was wondering if anyboady else got this error, and how on earth to fix it ? Hofmeyr
