I will never activate this feature because as a student I don't use it and the constant pop-ups are annoying. I can dismiss them, but every time I sign up for a new course, there's a new pop-up saying "Hey! I know you didn't want reminders for the previous 10 courses you signed up for, but what about THIS course, do you want a study reminder for this one?" What an obnoxious "feature"...

I mainly do screen casting I use two monitors whew one is a Thunderbolt Display. So I use the monitors camera if necessary. I use blue yeti as a microphone and screen flow for editing. I also bought a filter which passed to Screen flow to improve audio. Sometimes I will use notability to sketch something for students That’s my set up

Did you record the video in 720p or 1080p resolution? Also, in Camtasia, there is a project setting. You'll want to check that as well (see screenshot below). You may want to upload your video here to share it for feedback, that'll give the community better insights.

vokoscreen for screen recording Shotcut for video editing Audacity for audio editing Atom for displaying code on screen (it's clearer and simpler than VSCode) Recently slides.com for animated presentations Google Slides for scripts, on-screen diagrams Firefox for showing the browser on screen. I'm a Linux user, but most of the above are cross-platform. All are free unless you want private presentations on slides.com, but it's very cheap if you do want that. All are open source apart from Google Slides.

Typically internal mics won't provide the sound quality that a good external mic will offer. For example, I use a USB Blue Yeti Mic and a Sony A6400 to record my courses. The Blue Yeti gets much better sound quality then the internal mic on the A6400.

What is your unique selling point @bcottington85 , how is your course going to draw me in from the crowded marketplace? What alternate ways of presenting your topic are you bringing to make you a go to pro? What literal and lateral steps have you taken to make your offering so compelling that it leaves the others looking amateurish? Good luck with your course. I have no experience in a crowded area however I have forged my way to success from the days when my subject had no keywords to search for my subject.
