That wouldn't be allowed on Udemy, Even if your courses passes the review, it would be a waste of efforts and resources, since your courses wouldn't resonate with your students. One key element of success on Udemy is building Trust with your students.

I sure could use feedback. I have been on Udemy for 1.5 years, have learned a lot and am ready to learn more. My hope is to turn views into more purchases. My course "Management Skills: Problem Solving, Decision Making and More" is a good example of my current efforts. Any thoughts on the landing page and preview videos would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I would also like to voice my opinion on this subject. Just recently I released my first course, started to get 5 star reviews, but then I received a 3.5 star review with no additional feedback. The student in question watched 5% of the course, which is 18 minutes, and I have ~35 minutes marked as "free preview". Does anyone else see the issue here? Best, Predrag

Simple. I see that he placed his course under "Azure Functions " category, so I typed that in the Market place tool, and his course is 3rd in the list.

Following with interest. Depending on where Udemy goes with its experiment, it can be either really good or really bad for instructors, depending on if Udemy instructors will be enabled to go the same route with their own accredited courses as is the case with Emeritus. Now, if Udemy allows an upsell within the Udemy environment where instructor-led learning can take place and something more than a certificate of completion is earned...that would be beyond awesome for the above average instructor that would be capable of facilitating this .

I use my native language Turkish for my course and my problem is not much about linguistic, it is more about speaking to people. As I mentioned in another reply, I hesitate a lot between sentences. Sometimes this hesitate may sustains for a half hour or, I may forgot what was I going to say. For instance, I had tried to tell a property in programming language, and I forgot what was Turkish meaning of the word, like this one "Hold on what was Turkish of the Scroll bar? Am I forgetting my native language or something? What's wrong with me" My problem is not just about this thing, I can't express my mind clearly to my students. Even though, I am not using a camera on my videos, and just recording my presentation screen, my voice come out as nervous even I am not.

Updating the content regularly is crucial for improving our search engine ranking and therefore increasing the chances of the course's success in the platform. But you're correct: updating your course every 6 months is not a requirement. Courses will only be flagged if they haven't historically had significant enrollments, little to no student or instructor engagement for some time, and the course landing page doesn't follow SEO best practices (all these three criteria). found recently a nice AI based tool named Krisp ,which helps cancel all types of background noise with its advanced algorithms,including of keyboard typing,etc. Give it a try,would be surely helpful.

I would use “you will learn...” always try to talk as if you are talking to one student at a time. When you look at the camera ( if you do talking head) there is only ever one person on the other side of the lens. As for length, I like to use statements rather than explanations in the descriptions. I hope that helps? Sorry for late reply, been away for a while 😉

Shehla, Great question! I asked this exact same question some months ago. Each Instructor has their own stats based on their students but that is NOT NECESSARILY reflective of the 30 million Udemy student base. I have done some searches on this and I believe that the top 3 countries are US, India and Brazil. Turkey and the UK rounded out the top five. Anyone please feel free to contradict and let us know your sources.

I teach Finance. It requires finding one client and making them so happy that the other opportunities follow. And there are huge differences among Universities. I was speaking to someone from a top school who said, I kid you not, "we put our videos on VImeo." I am thinking to myself "elearning amateur." So yes there are lots of opportunities. I am planning to release a course titled "Teaching College and University Courses Online". I concur with @LawrenceMMiller you should publish your Elearning course first. You can use that to get Consulting Opportunities

Thank you very much! I couldn't find the Azure one on Amazon, but regarding the insignia - investing this sum is something i had intended for Blue Snowball mic. Obviously its use is different... My main use will be talking head videos, standing away from any table on which such microphones can be placed. So again, will the Insignia do well in a closed room with an echo?
