I hope to do my recording with USB directly to the editing software and avoid a slower setup which requires fetching files from a camera. I'm using right now Mac, Camtasia and Logitech c920.
I love this setup but it seems that Camtasia drops the quality while recording. Did anyone successfully create a webcam-based workflow on Mac with high video quality? any other recommended setup/workflows are welcome as well

My Mac set-up is more basic in some ways (I use iMovie still- I'm stubborn and cheap!) and not in others.
DSRL camera-> Mac using Cannon's own software
Snowball mic -> Mac via USB recorded on Quicktime
After I synch in iMovie audio and video.
My videos are all talking heads and pretty basic and I have a studio with pro lighting. I have a video I can share of it all, it's pretty simple compared to most set-ups but I also used an iPhone and $10 lapel mic for years with success.
