Go to solution

Hello There,

I'm new to this place as an instructor, want to know that how Udemy Business is differing from Udemy from instructor point of view. What is the impact of those 2 (Udemy and Udemy Business) on the Instructors Content.

Thanks,

It isn't a matter of choosing one versus the other. Everyone is in the marketplace, although you can opt in or out of "deals" which is the discounting/promoting program. Udemy Business is a corporate subscription model. In UB individuals do not "buy" your course, they choose to watch your course through the corporate subscription.

The revenue model is not the same for both. In the marketplace you earn 25% of the sale price. That will  not change in January. In UB the company shares a percent of their revenue from the corporate subscribers. That share is divided among instructors based on the number of minutes students watch your course. The percent of corporate subscriptions has been 25%, however that is now declining to 20% in January, 17% a year later, and 15% a year after that.

The main difference between the two plans from an instructor's perspective is the audience they are targeting (individual learners vs. businesses) and the potential for increased visibility and revenue through the Business Plan. However, the revenue share model is the same for both plans.
