Hello Instructors!

It’s now September and we have a new theme for you all, Teaching Best Practieces! With this subject, we’d love to dive deep into sharing online teaching knowledge and how to create the best possible experience for your learners. We’d love for you to stop by our coffee chat and network with fellow instructors while sharing your experience with teaching courses.

What is a virtual coffee chat?

The community virtual coffee chats are hour-long informal networking sessions held via Zoom. During these sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to network with and get to know other Udemy instructors worldwide.

How does it work?

September’s theme is course creation, so for the first 30 minutes, we will discuss various questions and scenarios about teaching best practices. Then we will open the floor for some questions you may have for other instructors regarding expertise as an online instructor.

How do I sign up?

Glad you asked! You can sign up for the coffee chat here!

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 21st at 10:30am PT!

*We understand that this time may not be ideal for all time zones, however, we will change the times of the coffee chat each month to accommodate different locations.

  • @Leonor C.
How do these coffee chats work - is it a discussion amongst those who call in to zoom, or is there a moderator/presenter who presents some information first, and then that is followed by a group discussion?

  • @LizBrownUX

    Hi there,

In the coffee chats I've attended on Udemy as of now, there has typically been a panel that starts off with an introduction and discussion on a predetermined topic. Following this, the event transitions into a group discussion where all participants can engage, ask questions, and share their perspectives. This format ensures a quality Q&A session and encourages active participation from all attendees.

I hope this adds to the understanding of how coffee chats work. Do let me know if you have more questions!

  • Hi there,

1: We did not receive conformation email for our registrations. (How do I know that our registration was successful/accepted?

2: Created the intro video but not sure where to upload/share it? (Intro video for the community, separate from intro video for the course.)

3: What are the regular events Udemy is hosting for instructors beside this one? (link to a page that lists them all?)

    Thanks

    Mr. Z & Andrea

Great coffee chat today! My favorite idea shared was to have a student tell their story in a video of how the course helped them. Testimonials have power!

  • Can someone share experience on how to design best course quality on Udemy?

  • Good to know it

  • A nice piece. I love it
