Frequency of Udemy Promotional Discounts?

Hi, I am developing my first course alongside building a business case for my company to start add training courses to Udemy. I have been looking for information related to the frequency of sales/promotions to allow me to estimate a break-even point for investment, (whilst understanding fully that this would be determined fully by course take up etc.) but I am struggling to see how frequently our course might be selected for reduction as part of a promotion under the Udemy Deals process. Can anybody advise of their experience please?

Udemy runs frequent sales, often daily, with major site-wide and category-specific promotions monthly. To estimate your break-even point, assume a significant portion of your sales will be at discounted prices through the Udemy Deals program (which requires opting in), as this will likely drive higher enrollment volume despite a lower average selling price. Monitor Udemy's promotions and instructor discussions for a better understanding, and start with a conservative ASP in your calculations.

Hi @KateL, welcome to our community! 😊
We don’t share our promotion strategy in advance, as our promotions are personalized based on students' interests. This means the experience may vary for different users.
However, our Marketing Team has published this article, which provides a general overview of the strategies we use.
Please note that if you don’t want your course to be discounted, you don’t have to opt into the Udemy Deals Program, so the price you set won’t be changed
Hope this helps!
