Definitely not. Lors of effort goes into creating courses.

The revenue share depends on how the students purchase your course. If a student buys your course through your coupon or referral link, you earn 97% of the revenue.
If they find your course on Udemy without using your link, you earn 37%. For more details, feel free to check out this article.

No, I give out nothing for free. I did do it once and thousands of students signed up never to watch a single minute to this day (maybe 10 out over 4000 students actually began the course)
