Currency traders in action

I would hope Udemy can start doinng something about what I have decided are currency traders - they buy the course, wait a day or two, and refund. They are usually gobbledegook email addresses which makes me groan when I see them - I don't count them as earnings even for a day.

They buy in $ at one rate, then refund when the exchange rate improves even a little. If they do that enough with bots across Udemy - bingo. Wish I had thought of it.

And, of course, if they are human, they have lifetime access they can on-sell with their nonsense email ID.

Hi @JP63, Thanks for sharing your concerns. I understand this can be frustrating; however, Udemy has policies in place to detect and prevent refund abuse, such as machine learning and data analysis, and we’re constantly working to find new ways to better protect your content. When an account is found to violate our policy, we also revoke their ability to refund courses to prevent further abuse. This is outlined in both our Refund Policy and Terms of Use

If you see a student who seems to be abusing Udemy’s refund policy, please let us know! Send an email to policy@udemy.com, and they can take a closer look.

Thanks again for sharing your feedback!
