Uploaded video stuck in Processing for hours is this normal?

Hi Udemy Community,

I’m currently trying to publish a new course, but one of my lecture videos has been stuck in the “Processing” stage for almost 5 hours now. I uploaded the file in MP4 format, just like I’ve done with previous courses, and the file size isn’t huge (about 600MB). The upload completed fine, but the status hasn’t changed since.

I’ve tried refreshing, logging out and back in, and even uploading a different video to test — same thing happens. I’m using a stable connection and a modern browser, so I don’t think it’s on my end.

I even asked Omar Abdul Ali, a fellow instructor I’ve connected with on the platform, and he mentioned he hasn’t seen this kind of delay before either. So now I’m wondering if it’s something temporary on Udemy’s end.

Is this something others are experiencing too? Could it be a delay on Udemy’s servers or a known issue right now? I’m just a bit worried because my course is ready to go, and this is the only thing holding me back from publishing.

It does happen from time to time. Sometimes it just takes a long time for a video to process.

I’ve experienced the same issue this week—videos stuck in processing for hours. Seems like it might be a platform-side delay. I reached out to Udemy support, and they mentioned they’re aware and working on it.
