Feedback on my test video!

Hi Udemy Instructor Community!

This video is by no means perfect - I just wanted to test my audio and lighting and how I deliver my words for my Jewellery making course idea.

I really want to be a successful instructor in this community as I am trying to have this course ready before I have my first baby!

You come across as very kind and genuine. You might consider using a different background, perhaps something related to your course could appear on the screen. For instance, when you say, “I wish I could make that,” it would be nice to show an example of something that has been made. The video length is perfect, and overall it feels very authentic. There’s just a slight echo that you might want to reduce.

Thank you so much - this is so helpful!! Do you recommend any android friendly apps to reduce echo? Should I buy an external mic? I will include examples of jewellery etc

I think a good external mic would be a good idea. There is a discussion here:

Initially I used a Blue Yeti but it would pick up so much background noise from birds and dogs. Later I got a dynacaster SE. It might be a good idea to check out the recommendations in the above post because I am far from an expert in audio.

In the following post there is a discussion of audio and these instructors are far more experienced then I am. I believe they have great tips:

I'm not really familiar with any echo reducing apps on Android. The audio quality might be fine. I really do recommend submitting a test video to Udemy. They offer great feedback.
