How Can I Promote My First Udemy Course Effectively?

Hi everyone,

I recently published my first Udemy course, but I’m not sure how to promote it properly. I’ve shared the link a few times, but I’m not getting many enrollments yet.

What are the best free or low-cost ways to promote a new course?
Should I focus on social media, YouTube, or Udemy’s internal traffic?

Any proven strategies or examples from your own experience would really help!

Under your course, you can create promotional coupons — either Free or Discounted.
Share them with your friends and colleagues, encourage them to spread the word, and request their reviews.

Try to share promo links on social media. Do not share free links. For example join a group on Reddit related to your group. Check the Reddit rules and even contact the mods because it is easy to get banned for self-promotion. I think the best way to promote a course is to create an amazing course and hopefully Udemy will attract students.

I find no course published under you name. What is the name of your course?

Step 1: Identify search keywords potential students are likely to use to find your course and incorporate them into your course title and subtitle. Use instructor Insighted → Marketplace Insights to find keywords that students are using to find courses in your niche.

Step 2: Use ChatGPT to expand your course description and include marketing speak. Here's the prompt I use to expand my course descriptions:

Write a long course description for a Udemy online video training course titled "[TITLE]: [SUBTITLE]." Use lots of marketing speak, include no graphics and include at least two bulleted lists. Here is the original course description for this course:
[ORIGINAL COURSE DESCRIPTION]
