Hi everyone!
My case is a bit curious. The year that has been one of the most challenging for Udemy has also been the best year for me since I started. I began in April 2022.
I attribute this result to two key things:
1 - Finding a promising niche. Before, I would run and run, get tired, and not get results. This year, in particular, I found a niche that I could explore (and that had a lot of room for growth). Fortunately, this was a niche that is growing not only on Udemy but in the global market. When I decided to create the first course in this niche in February of this year, I started to see different results, and it was from then on that I saw that I could take advantage of this opportunity.
2 - Successful Partnerships. There's a saying: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Now that I had in mind which niche I should produce content for, I saw an opportunity with a topic that was exploding abroad (in the United States) and that could be a good opportunity here in Brazil. But this time I decided to launch the course with a partner on Udemy. To summarize, this partner (who is a renowned instructor) accepted the invitation and since then, we've launched several training courses that have performed well!
Looking back, there were some moments when I honestly thought about giving up on Udemy. It was a lot of work and the results weren't worth it. I even stopped (not completely) in mid-2023 to early 2024. Seeing some comments, I sympathize with everyone. But unfortunately, lowering your head and crossing your arms won't change reality. Artificial Intelligence is here to stay. I believe the next few years will be challenging for everyone who produces content, but on the other hand, it will reveal many opportunities if we are looking for promising niches.
If I had to leave one message, it would be: if you enjoy this work, don't give up. The situation can change. Maybe you could rethink the niche you're creating content for, maybe you could consider partnering with someone, I'm not sure, but don't give up. There's a saying: "Easy choices lead to a hard life, and hard choices lead to an easy life." Let's move forward, always thinking positively and working to achieve our goals!
