Unexpected Tax Settings Notification

Hi everyone,

We want to acknowledge reports from instructors who received an email notification indicating an update was made to their tax settings, even though no changes were made on their end.

We’re aware of this issue and have escalated it internally. Our engineering teams are actively investigating what triggered this unexpected notification so we can better understand the root cause.

At this time, there’s no action required from instructors. We’ll share an update here as soon as we have more information to confirm what happened and next steps, if any.

Thanks for the update.

I mean I haven’t received payment this month although I did edit my tax settings - there was no way to upload a form, only an option to edit. For some time I’ve been receiving messages to send my tax form and at the same time when I go to tax and payouts it says that the tax form has been received. I don’t mind the bug but it would be nice to receive a payout. Is there a delay this month?

Thanks for your patience as our team looked into this issue. No changes were made to your tax forms, and there was no associated security incident.

After an investigation, we received confirmation from our engineering team that this notification was unintentionally triggered during a routine compliance check that our system was running.

To be clear, no unauthorized party was granted access to your form data. As always, you can check the accuracy of your info from your Tax Settings page in your instructor account.

Our team is working to make sure that similar routine compliance checks don’t trigger this notification again.
