All Instructors status once the merge is completed

Hi All,

I came across the Udemy + Coursera Combination Announcement in which there is a statement saying the Instructors Status. Please read below statement by them.

"Will my status as an instructor on Udemy’s platform carry over to the combined platform?

Proven expertise, strong learner engagement, high learner satisfaction and consistent quality remain core signals of instructor excellence, and these strengths will continue to be recognized and valued."

What does it mean? Does it mean Not all the instructors will be as a instructors after the Merge? Or the only the Certain instructors will be as an instructors after the merge?

Please someone help me to clear this as I have been creating a course for last 4 Months. I am totally confused now.

Not sure if even Udemy has all the answers at this point 😀
There are already several threads on this … from about a month or so ago. Go through them.

Don’t worry about it. Coursera acquired Udemy because it brings what Coursera lacks. It wouldn’t make sense to purge Udemy’s content or instructors they rely on us. That said,

I do expect stricter course quality checks going forward. Udemy’s brand is already stronger in terms of scale and reach.

The merger happened because neither company could survive independently; however, combining their strengths makes sense for long-term survival.

Udemy is profitable and had large cash reserves. They could have survived on their own. But this deal is better for the shareholders.

Maybe it will be better for us too. Time will tell.

As per my knowledge, It will not be better for instructors and Students as Coursera is so greedy to make money than any online platform. They take more percentage of revenue from Instructors than udemy and they also charge more from the students. Here, Instructors and Students will not get any benefits but Coursera will get. It is really sad to see that Udemy is getting bought by greedy Company. I used to trust the udemy more than any other online platform. Now it will not be anymore.

What will happen with the instructors who have multiple profiles? How coursera will merge those? Udemy had an unique system. So I am confused about that.
