Hi All! Quick Noob question... If I link to my Udemy page from my website I control the price right?

I'm a little confused about what I've read about Udemy putting your courses on a sale. I'm probably ok with that but unsure how it works.. Do I get any say? Do I get consulted? I think I'm doing this right but having a page on my website that says "Click here to buy my course" which takes the viewer to my Udemy page means I get the lions share of the income. That's correct yeah? so much to learn! so many questions!

Hi @AlanH, Thanks for your question. I know pricing can be a bit tricky at first, so please allow me to give you a quick overview: If you're opted into the Deals Program, Udemy sets price ranges based on your course’s actual sales data, not the list price you choose. If your course tends to perform better at a higher price, the system will move in that direction. If it converts better at a lower price, it will adjust accordingly.

Also keep in mind that paid courses will not be discounted as part of a Udemy promotion for the first 14 days in certain countries like the United States, France, Japan, and Turkey, after they are published in the marketplace.

Just a note: You can opt out of the Deals Program at any time, as instructors can still participate in the Udemy marketplace without joining our promotional programs. This means you'll be able to set your own course price, but your course won’t be included in any new discount campaigns after you opt out and won’t be promoted through Udemy’s marketing channels.

Regarding the revenue share you can find the scenarios here:

• If a student clicks on your coupon code or referral link and purchases a course within 24 hours, the sale should be attributed to you, and you should receive 97% of the revenue.
• Udemy-driven sales: You receive 37% of the revenue.
