This is really sad to see. It's heartbreaking how poor decisions led to massive financial losses and brought us back to 2020 levels (or, in your case, 2014 levels). Congratulations on sticking with it for all these years.

I believe Udemy understands the passion and dedication that instructors invest in creating high-quality courses, and I'm hopeful that future decisions will continue to foster a win-win environment for instructors, learners, and the platform alike.
All is not lost.
It's not like this is the first time (or, hopefully, the last time) this has happened. This is the rapid fall from grace I experienced with Amazon books before joining Udemy.

I'm sorry I made you sad, but I'm pretty happy and optimistic. I've been shifting my focus from promoting Udemy courses to promoting my Amazon books with great success. This is after trying and failing at screenwriting ;-).
I thought that the last 12 years were a blast and profitable as a paid hobby.

I made $199,000, my first big year with Amazon books. So, that collapse hurt a lot.
After my fourth or fifth collapse, it's become par for the course :-).

That was my point; nothing is forever. Hope you're successful in reviving those book sales. Publishing on Amazon has become harder with all the AI-written stuff competing for attention, and Amazon shifting its own attention to AI. But if you have established titles from the pre-AI era, that could be an advantage.
Skillshare is a very strange website. You could get low minutes and a little bit of money or high minutes and almost no money. Same as StackCommerce, in the past during the period of Wang (one of those who worked at StackCommerce), you can make a good amount of money, but today it is dead like Skillshare.
I forgot about StackCommerce! We should start another thread reminiscing about platforms of yore.

One of my screenplays won 15 first-place awards. Meaningless. Everyone wins these awards. That's how the award sites make money. Unfortunately, there's a giant chasm between winning awards and selling a screenplay. I've begun converting my screenplays to short stories for my next book ;-).

I watched Assassin. Very interesting. Is it 100% AI and is the purpose to show what can be produced by students enrolling in your course?
Assassin is 100% AI. I used ChatGPT to write the script from an idea I had, and HeyGen to turn it into a video. I was hoping to use AI to turn my screenplays into movies. I don't think AI is quite there yet. Assassin is as far as I made it.
