Does a Co-instructor need to create a different course to become a Premium instructor?

I am creating a course with a SME co-instructor. I am the owner and added him as a co-instructor. I want to assign revenue share but it requires that he be designated as "premium." The instructions say that he has to create a course and then go to the price and add $ details to become premium. Can he do this with the current course we created - or does he need to create another course to apply?

Hi @anns Thanks for your question! Your co-instructor does not need to create a separate course to become a "Premium" instructor. The Premium Instructor Application is an account-level process; it's not tied to any specific course.

Here's what your co-instructor needs to do:

1. Go to the Premium Instructor Application page
2. Complete the required steps: fill in personal information, upload a profile picture, agree to Udemy's Instructor Terms, choose promotional preferences, and connect a payout method (PayPal, Payoneer, or direct deposit for US-based instructors).

Once he's been approved as a Premium Instructor, you'll be able to assign a revenue share to him.
