I have just published my first course and it is clearly getting notice - by people trying to tell me they work with Udemy instructors to improve course visibility, strengthen landing page positioning, and support more consistent enrollments and sales and provide social proof so my course will succeed. I am skeptical about working with these people. Has anyone had good experiences of working with such people?

What would you say are the top tips for getting your course noticed that you can do yourself.

Congratulations for your first course publication! That is a tremendous achievement.Beware of anyone offering more enrollments, social proof or guaranteed visibility. A lot of the messages are generic marketing pitches, and some even may breach themselves the Udemy policies, such as fake reviews or artificial engagement. When the strategy is difficult to explain with real world examples and clear and transparent methods, it is probably a good idea to pass.What I've seen is that things that you can do yourself can have the biggest effect in the long run:Design a catchy course title, subtitle and thumbnail.Tweak your landing page to ensure it makes clear what the course is and what outcomes you will get.Include a good promotional video which will show the value in a short space of time. Continue to refine course as per feedback and questions from students.Promote your course on your own platform LinkedIn, YouTube, your blog or other communities where it is OK to promote yourself. Always ask for sincere feedback from students who finish the course; never pay for or forge feedback.It takes time to build momentum, and organic trust is often better than shortcuts. I'd prefer to put time into the course's development and promoting it honestly rather than pay for someone who guarantees short cuts to success.
