I currently have a udemy monthly subscription that will expire soon, and i want to download some courses on my pc to have so i can watch them when the subscription expires. Give me suggestions how to do that safely without getting potentially banned.

Hey bro, this is a common practice. Pirating and downloading Udemy course videos is extremely easy.There is absolutely nothing we or Udemy can do about it. I’ve made peace with it.

Nobody wants to stop piracy more than Coursera / Udemy. The fact that it still continues proves, to me at least, Udemy cannot do much about it. Piracy never bothered me that much because the people who would go to an illegal site offering courses would probably never spend their own money purchasing a course (or a subscription).

I probably have 20-30 of my courses being offered on illegal sites (I've never looked to see). But it hasn't prevented me from earning a nice side income from Udemy. It's just a cost of doing business.

Well said! But that logic would be like saying, “I don’t need a password for my bank account because anyone who steals money from it simply won’t be allowed to work with me.” Security measures exist precisely because vulnerabilities can be exploited.

If code is publicly available on GitHub that can potentially be used to hijack Udemy courses, that suggests the vulnerability is known and potentially being exploited.

The focus should be on identifying and closing such loopholes rather than assuming they won’t be misused. Udemy should build trust by doing penetration/security hacking testing by an "Ethical hacker"

I don't think I understand the analogy but, as I said, no one should have a more vested interest in stopping this piracy than Udemy. The fact they haven't tells me 1) They can't; 2) It's not worth the effort because the people getting these pirated copies wouldn't purchase a Udemy course or subscription anyway.

I think a far greater problem is Udemy's return policy. A student can purchase a course, watch the parts they are interested in and they get a full or mostly full refund. IMO, that is real theft.

Every course on Udemy has at least 10 minutes of the course that can be watched for free. You should be able to tell from that whether you are going to like the course or not and from the course rating.

But, both of these topics have been beat to death over the years and nothing is going to change.
