Unable to Submit Course for Review + Caption Editor Video Loading Error

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing two issues with my first Udemy course and would appreciate any advice.

1. Unable to submit for review

Udemy displays the error: "On the Curriculum page, you must have content for all lectures."

However, I've checked everything. All lectures have content, all videos are published and play correctly, and all quizzes and assignments are complete. I still can't submit my course.

2. Caption Editor – Video Loading Error

The Caption Editor cannot load videos in any of my lectures, although they play correctly in Curriculum Preview. I've tried Chrome, Incognito mode, and Edge, but the problem persists.

Has anyone experienced either of these issues? Could they be related, and how did you resolve them?

I've already contacted Udemy Support about the Caption Editor issue.

Hi @Projectonomy, I understand you are having trouble submitting your course for review. The warnings you're receiving likely indicate that some content is missing. One of the requirements is to have at least 30 minutes of video lecture in your course. I recommend reviewing each lecture to ensure they all include the necessary videos or articles. If they look as in the following screenshot :

It means you have missing content, like video content or an article.

Yes, this is a known glitch that happens from time to time. The Caption Editor uses a direct media stream pipeline that is separate from the standard Curriculum Preview player, which is why your videos play fine in preview even if the editor player fails to load.

While you wait for Support to take a look, here’s the quickest workaround so you don't get blocked:

1. Head to your course management dashboard and click Captions on the left menu.
2. Click the three dots (...) on the affected lecture and Download the .vtt file.
3. Edit the subtitle text using any basic text editor (like Notepad/TextEdit) or dedicated subtitle software.
4. Upload the updated .vtt file back on the Captions page.
