Introducing a new note-taking experience

- Mobile app access: Just like bookmarks, students can mark specific points within your sections and lectures to come back to later. But now, we’re rolling out the note-taking feature for all platforms, desktop, Android, and iOS.
- Increased character count: Unlike bookmarks, which allowed for 140 characters, notes can be up to 1,000 characters.
- Updated filter functions: Notes can be filtered by lecture, course, and recency in a dedicated notes tab, so your students won’t lose an idea or insight.
- Note tracking: Just like the bookmarks feature, you can still see the points in your lectures with the most notes to see where students are the most engaged.

@Abbie
in February (= in 8 months)? Or did you maybe mean July or August?0 -
Thanks for that, @CarstenMuessig
! Post updated. :smileyvery-happy:0 -
Nice. These bookmarks/notes are also useful for instructors, because it provides feedback for when the key information is presented (according to students, which may or may not coincide with what we think
).

What happens if a video gets updated? Will the notes/bookmarks be removed?
For IT courses, there is a constant need to update lectures. I was just wondering if students won't be upset if the notes disappear.

Hey @ValentinDespa
, thanks for bringing this up. After a little digging, we found that if you change videos you can still see the notes, but the note video position will be tied to the new video in the same location as it was before. While this is currently how it works, our team is looking into a possible workaround for better student experience. We'll gladly share an update here as soon as we get one.1 -
Thanks @Abbie
for this and for your input into this community. Your hardwork is appreciated!0
