Hello community instructors,
I have, on numerous occasions, come across posts that, in my humble opinion, would be more appropriate for chat boards rather than for a forum instructors and educators community. These posts are poorly written, lacking any discernible writing style, and fail to convey any meaningful message to readers, particularly learners and knowledge seekers. For instance, the use of abbreviations like "r u" and "nd" instead of "are you" and "and" further hampers comprehension.
Therefore, I would like to offer my sincere advice to some of our post writers: I recommend reading two highly valuable sources on English writing style:
1. The Chicago Manual of Style
https://news.uchicago.edu/explainer/chicago-manual-style-explained
2. The Associated Press Stylebook
https://www.apstylebook.com/
P.S. Please feel free to share any suggestions that can assist our new community instructors in writing in a style that enhances their credibility with prospective course takers and reviewers.
Best regards,
