Hello all,
I'd be really grateful for some feedback on a few questions I have ahead of filming and editing a course.
I'm looking to launch a comprehensive DJ'ing course. The focus will be mainly on how to turn mobile DJ'ing into a successful business rather than just how to DJ. There are loads of 'how to DJ' courses already, but less offering practical advice on how to turn it into a career. From looking through Udemy, I can only see one other course which is about turning DJ'ing into a business, and that's a very short course so I'm hoping I've found a bit of a niche.
I have a few questions:
1) Can I talk about specific agencies like Bark or Encore (Encore is a UK based agency)? and can I use their logos? I'd like to offer advice on the best ways of using different online agencies to maximise sales.
2) I assume I cannot play copyrighted music without permission, but can I talk about particular songs? e.g. can I mention Uptown Funk and talk about how it transitions really well into x or y song?
3) I'm in the script writing stage at the moment, and I'm aware that some sections are just advice without any concrete 'knowledge'. For example, I'm thinking of adding a section on looking after your mental health as a DJ (I said it was comprehensive!). But as I'm writing it, that section is less about concrete knowledge but more tips / advice. Is that OK? There will still be plenty of concrete educational stuff (i.e. a bit of music theory, some stuff on mixing and other DJ skills, essential equipment needed and how to use it) but I wondered whether advice from my years of experience 'cuts it' for a Udemy course?
