Guidance Needed – Course Published, but Reviews Not Working

Hello Instructors,
My course has just been published, and I’m sharing some coupons with my friends. However, they are unable to leave reviews after enrolling. If they can’t submit reviews, it defeats the purpose of offering coupons to get initial feedback.
Could you please guide me on this? Is there any restriction on coupon-based enrollments leaving reviews?
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Dr Sonika

Hello,
The students should watch the first videos before they are prompted to leave a review. I do not think that a student can enroll and be able to leave a review right away I think. But for sure, learners with coupons, once watched the course, they can leave a review.

It takes a few days for reviews to update. Moreover I think Udemy filters reviews if they seem like from friends and family that didn't actually watch the course. That's just a feeling and I don't know how things work behind the scenes. I feel really uncomfortable asking anyone for reviews, let alone family and friends who aren't actually interested in my course topics. I don't think coupons restrict reviews in any way. Good luck!

Hi @Sonika969, We’re so glad your course was published! 🎊😊
There are no restrictions on coupon-based enrollments when it comes to leaving a review. Students who enroll using a coupon can still provide feedback on the course.
With the in-course prompt, students will be asked to leave a review three times while viewing the course, once at the beginning, once in the middle, and once at the end. This helps gather feedback at different stages of the learning experience.
As the other instructors mentioned above, this may be happening because these users are not actively viewing the course.
I hope this helps!
