Hey everyone,
I’m excited to join this community and share a bit about my background—while also learning what topics or skill sets you think are missing or could use a fresh perspective.
I come from a background where I taught high-stakes, practical courses that demanded real-world decision-making and quick thinking. I've led intensive training in advanced navigation, survival strategies, and complex aquatic operations, always focusing on hands-on, field-tested methods rather than just theory. I was the go-to expert for specialized courses—like aerial rope techniques, rapid descent procedures, and close-range tactical operations—ensuring that every lesson was rooted in actual experience.
My last billet was as phase manager for survival. In that role, I oversaw 20+ instructors and personally taught over 3,600 students in a formal in-person setting. This experience has given me a unique perspective on combining practical, no-nonsense expertise with effective training strategies.
I’m also exploring opportunities to provide feedback and guidance to fellow instructors—and to develop a few courses of my own focused on risk management and planning. I believe these offerings can bring a fresh, real-world approach to the outdoors space, complementing traditional training methods with actionable insights.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these ideas and any suggestions you might have!
