Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share something here and maybe get some feedback or support.
I’m a new instructor on Udemy, and I’ve put in a lot of time creating two full courses. As someone who’s naturally shy and prefers to stay behind the scenes, I decided not to show my face in the videos. Instead, I use an AI video creation tool to help me present the lessons.
I still do everything else myself—writing the scripts, creating the content, organizing the lessons, editing the visuals. Just because you don’t see my face on camera doesn’t mean the course is low quality. In fact, I’ve focused on making sure the course is valuable, well-structured, and easy to follow.
I believe what really makes a great course is whether learners actually walk away with useful knowledge—not whether the instructor is on camera.
AI narration is just a tool. Some people learn better by listening, and it allows me to deliver more consistent content while staying in my creative comfort zone. That doesn’t make my course any less legitimate. AI Exists to Help Creators Like Me, So Why Is My Course Being Flagged? I think my mistake was thinking the group was genuinely supportive, I was too excited and i posted on the group, how do you encourage new creators? and didn't say I was a professional on Udemy, and am here for the long term to learn and to grow, and have been improving compare to my first time - So Just flagging my course is really sad and a shame.
Especially for being new and trying out this platform to see how valuable it can be for sharing my teaching expertise—my course is not a joke and shouldn’t be treated like one. It takes real time, effort, and planning to create, and I take that seriously, I am also very busy but I created my time to do this not for just the price but for my leisure and I am very excited about it.
And guess what? Since publishing my first course, I’ve improved dramatically. I’ve learned new skills, taken other courses, and added even more value to my own content—things like slide presentations and stronger visuals. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in just two courses, and I know this is only the beginning.
This isn’t a joke to me—it’s something I take seriously and enjoy doing. I haven’t made real sales yet, and I haven’t even started marketing, but I truly love the process. That’s what anyone who cares about their work does: they keep learning, improving, and showing up before the money.
I’m just happy to be part of the Udemy community, and I didn’t expect to face such negative energy for simply doing things in a way that works best for me.
I may not know every Udemy rule yet—I’m still learning—but having my work flagged or removed simply because I use AI to present is really discouraging. I’m not trying to cheat or be lazy. I’m just trying to teach in a way that works for me. You can clearly see all my group post are really exciting, just happy to be in the Udemy community.
With time, I’ll improve my skills and possibly even get comfortable being on camera. But for now, this is the best and most sustainable way for me to deliver meaningful, high-quality content to learners.
Thanks for reading. Just needed to express this and connect with others who may feel the same.
