Please share feedback on my delivery.

I published a course on data analysis a few months ago. I didn’t fully market the course — I just wanted to get some initial feedback. One student said that my delivery was not engaging, which prompted me to unpublish the course.

Now, I’m re-recording the entire course, and I want to make sure that my delivery is satisfactory — not boring or robotic.

Thanks for sharing your journey, which takes courage and commitment. I watched your sample lecture, and here’s some quick feedback:

Tone: Much improved! It feels more natural and conversational now, which helps with engagement.
Pace: Generally good, but consider adding more variation a slightly slower pace during key explanations would help retention.
Pauses: Well-placed in most parts, though a few sections could benefit from longer pauses after major points or transitions.
Clarity: Your explanations are clear, but try to emphasize key takeaways a bit more vocally to help them stand out.

Here are my comments:

PROS:

You have a little accent but I find your accent and pace and tone very clear.

I think your explanations are very clear and you do a great job of teaching SPSS.

CONS/Constructive criticism:

At 1:05 you begin to present an example. The previous 1:05 intro should be reduced to 5 seconds. It's a little boring to watch a static screen for 65 seconds. I'd start with "in this video we are going to demonstrate such and such" and then demonstrate it. So your 3:12 minute video should be 2:12 minutes.

At 0:39 you say something like "using this dropdown menu". I would display a red rectangle at the top of the screen because it is hard to understand what are you referring too.

At 1:24 you refer to some text which is very hard to read. I'd recommend zooming in a little and perhaps adding a red rectangle about the text. Also the table of the descriptive statistics is very small.

All in all I think you did a great job.
