I constantly get requests from students to enable subtitles for their language. But of course I don't have such option. I still don't understand how Udemy does automatic caption translations. Why some languages get it and some don't?
I have some obscure languages getting it, like Estonian: population 1.3 million and 48% of that speaks fluent English. But then Japanese captions I don't have: population 124 million and only 8% speak fluent English.
It would be nice for instructors to be able to add automatic captions on demand.
I know the option for manual captioning is there but it's just too much work for instructors with large content base and constantly updating videos. I've done this once for one language but it was already quite taxing for a single language let alone dozens of languages.
