I got an email from Upwork regarding promotion of my Udemy course with title
Is it a scam or it really help to boost the leaners for the course.
100% a scam. There was a recent discussion about this but I can't find it. It can work against you. They contact me several times a week. In the past I told them they are welcome to purchase my course if they want to help or if I said I only accept paying students then I will need to provide them with a budget. Now I've finally learned to block and ignore.
@NehaMalikGoel Yes, they are most likely scams. If you ask whether they can promote your discount coupons on a revenue-sharing basis, they will refuse, they always insist on upfront payment. It’s best to block them immediately rather than waste time engaging in further communication.
Another thing with those guys is that they won't let you live in peace. That's why I always ask them to get me 100 students with my link and I will give them 50% cut in that. I will be clear in my request that they won't get anything in advance. All of them back out and that's where I tell them to stop wasting their time becuase I am not interested. At least you got an email, I get 2-3 WhatsApp messages every week. Once I reply them about not to bother me again, I block them. And the story continues with another person with another number.
