Hello, my course has been approved and is live. However, when students click on the preview option, they only see a black screen instead of the video. Has anyone faced this issue before, and what steps can I take to resolve it? Thank you.
Yes, I also recently mentioned this. I'll send a message to support too and I think you should do the same. Multiple complaints might make a difference.
Hello @Aftab ,
Thank you for your post, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing video playback issues with your course preview.
As Ron mentioned, it would be best to reach out to Instructor Support so they can take a closer look and assist you with this. You can do this by clicking here. Once there, you’ll find a “Contact Us” button in the bottom-right side, where you can submit a support ticket through the chatbot.
Feel free to continue sharing any other concerns or questions you may have here in the Community.
I contacted support and received this response:
"Hi Ron,
Thanks for reaching out.
After checking on our end, we can confirm that the video previewing feature is still working as usual. So we can have a better understanding of the issue, could you provide us with a screen recording of the issue you are seeing?
Thanks for your cooperation and we look forward to your reply.
Kind regards, Jonas J." and my response is: "There is no problem on my end. There have been endless complaints on Udemy's community about this issue. Have you looked at the attachment I sent?Preview Not Working.gif https://community.udemy.com/en/discussion/163266/preview-of-my-course-is-not-working?tab=all&utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=preview https://community.udemy.com/en/discussion/163224/issue-with-free-preview-promotional-video-on-course-landing-page?tab=all&utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=preview https://community.udemy.com/en/discussion/162904/preview-videos-are-not-playing-any-ideas-how-to-fix?tab=all&utm_source=community-search&utm_medium=organic-search&utm_term=preview or more generally: https://community.udemy.com/en/search?domain=discussions&query=preview&scope=site&categoryIDs[0]=7&includeChildCategories=true&source=community This is a real issue. The general feeling in the instructor community is that Udemy has become unreliable and full of bugs. Best,
Ron"
