Congratulations on reaching the $1M milestone on Udemy! That's an incredible achievement.
If you don't mind sharing, what has been your biggest source of income on the platform? Was it primarily organic Udemy traffic, Udemy Business, promotions to your own audience, or something else?

Congratulations on the milestone! @Btkrausen I have a question. My sales are declining every month since merge was announced. Feels like Udemy been experimenting with some stuff. After merge was completed, sales tanked completely. I'm experiencing roughly are 50-60% drop of revenue. I wonder what it's like for you with bestseller courses. Is it the same? A little worse? A little better maybe?
Probably similar to most instructors with a higher monthly revenue. Start with Udemy organic, get added to UB, and keep creating awesome content and building an audience.
Udemy is a marathon, but most people assume it's a sprint and get frustrated after a short time. It takes years and years of consistency to build up a healthy monthly revenue.
I think my "blog" post from December still holds very true.
My marketplace sales have declined, but not by much since PP was introduced. I still feel students want to "own" the content long-term rather than be stuck with yet another monthly recurring bill. People absolutely have subscription fatigue, including myself. I'd rather make a single, one-time purchase than be billed incessantly.
I've also made some strategic moves that helped my monthly revenue, such as shedding an unresponsive, unhelpful co-instructor and replacing those "shared" courses with my own, which are 100x better. Much better for the student experience, plus I keep 100% of the instructor rev share.
My current monthly rev is the highest it's ever been.
