Wondering if anyone is actually making money right now via personal plan that rivals the old model?
I had pondered only from content perspective so sharing the notes. Don't qualify on scale aspect 😔
Yes I was so curious about any feedback
Not yet, it seems to be taken up now so let's wait. I agree the payments from subscriptions doesn't work well for the transactional model oriented courses. Personally I think its for content that people genuinely want it gets distributed over time and grows past the marketplace share post 180 minutes of consumption (rough calculations.)
To move or not, that's the call everyone needs to make individually taking into account all costs from marketing to refunds. Very situational call.
In my opinion, The situation you mentioned boils down to how many of those 8000 are potentially going to stay subscribed for at least a year or so after they finish your course? And that applies to all marketplace and only one with more realistic probability get added to Personal Plan and those enterprise aligned go to UB.
The transactional market seems to be heading towards more like hosting service where one can rent the infrastructure and get their own traffic. More like backend for influencers who have built a captive audience and want to monetize it without maintaining infrastructure. So your topic and its potential customer base might decide how interested the marketplace algorithm will be going forward.
One has to be careful with search engine ranking too since that ecosystem is evolving rapidly too. I think a lot of advice is outdated and confusing momentum for successful strategy and it falls apart with a single core update in google or YouTube! So be very very specific about your domain instead of opinions from the "mob." The LLM proliferation is mostly in background and its effects might only reflect in Q1,Q2 2027 across all platforms. So please don't rush into anything.
My observations about the broader future of platform are posted in the following (not self promoting just happens to be relevant and partly being lazy.)
