Hi,

I use Open Broadcast Software (OBS), which is free. It gives excellent quality and saves videos in .mp4 format. If you don't need to edit, then you can use that software on its own.

If you do need to edit the videos then try Davinci resolve - a free video editor that gives excellent quality results.
