Hi everyone,
I’m an instructor / course creator (or planning to become one) and I had a question regarding using game-style examples for teaching concepts on Udemy.
Context
I’m thinking of using a word puzzle game concept similar to NYT’s “Letter Boxed” as a teaching example in my course (for example:
- explaining logic / problem-solving
- UI/UX thinking
- coding or algorithm basics
- interactive exercises for learners)
The idea is not to copy the game, but to use a similar puzzle format purely for educational purposes.
My questions
- Is it acceptable to use Letter Boxed–style puzzle logic as an example in Udemy courses?
- Are there any copyright or content guidelines I should be careful about?
- Has anyone here successfully used games or puzzles as teaching tools in their Udemy courses?
Goal
I want to make my course more engaging and interactive without violating any Udemy policies or intellectual property rules.
I’d really appreciate guidance from experienced instructors or the Udemy team.
Thanks in advance!
