Help with green screen lower lighting

Hi guys,

I just wanted to ask for a little advice on lighting my green screen. At the moment I’ve got two soft boxes (which are great) but, the lower third of the screen is a little darker as I’m losing light. I saw a video by @PhilEbiner a while ago but can’t find it now. He used a light on the floor as a backlight. Any links to an amazon page or something would be appreciated for such a light.

The issue is that the chroma key software isn’t filtering the lower third correctly as the color differs to much, so the end result is patchy around my shoulders.

Cheers,

Diego

I use LED ceiling strip lights, lots of output, for lighting my backdrop, they are also cheap if you can do some basic plug wiring, just make sure you match the colour temperature to your current lights: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aluminium-4000-4500K-Daylight-Minimalistic-Replacing/dp/B00XETFHGG/ref=sr_1...

Mark, have you experienced any flickering with your LED lights? Are they dimmable? I am using T8 fluorescent lights with my setup and it does a great job at even lightning.

No flickering, as long as you film at the correct frame rate, so if you film in variations of 50 frames (50 / 100 /150 etc) then make sure the lights are 50hz. If 60 frames then 60 hz.

I use 6 leds  to light my studio, you can see how I made them here, I have added another led light at the bottom since this video :

Makes sense with the frame rate. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out over breakfast!
