Hi guys i am a new instructor looking to create some valuable cooking classes, i am looking at a suitable microphone to use for cooking.
I have a conon 80D camera and wondering what sort of microphone do i actually use?
Lav mic?
Lapel mic?
What is the difference, can i have a wireless lapel mic plugged into the camera and run with that, if so what can i start out with that is low cost?
Sorry this tech stuff is all new to me.

Tim,
I have a little bit of video editing background and you should be okay with a lapel/lav mic. If you know how to sync your video and audio files separate, you could shoot on your camera and plug a lav mic into your phone and record on voice memo. (Tip: clap your hands 3 times so you can view the audio wave lengths and match them up in your video editing software).
