Hi I’m new here and was wondering what the fee is to launch a coarse? Also, is there a minimum or maximum amount we can charge for our classes?

@Giaorkat2,

No fee although Udemy can take up to a whopping 75% of the sale price of your course:

Organic Sale: Udemy 50%, You 50%

Udemy Ad Sale: Udemy 75%, You 25%

Instructor Promotional Sale: Udemy 3%, You 97%

Affiliate Sale: Udemy 50%, You 25%, Affiliate 25%

Use promotional announcements to advertise your promotional coupons for a whopping 97%.

Hope this helps,

---Brian

Although the allowed price range you can set is from $9.99 to hundreds of dollars, you'll find that students expect to purchase courses in the $9.99 - $19.99 range. You can set a higher "list price," but students will wait for your course to go on sale before they'll actually buy it.

So for planning purposes, I'd assume you'll receive on average about $4 per course sale. It's all about volume here - success on Udemy means teaching topics that are in high enough demand that you can find thousands of students who need your course. Udemy's Marketplace Insights tool in your instructor dashboard can give you a wealth of data about what you can expect from your chosen topic, and the existing courses you're up against.
