I am also a newbie, so I don't have much advice yet, but searching the discussions here has already answered most of the questions I've had. The community is super-supportive! 

Have you joined the Newcomer Challenge? It's Udemy's way of supporting new instructors step by step through the process of planning, scripting, recording, editing and publishing their first course. If you complete it in 45 days, Udemy may also feature your course in their social media feeds and Newcomer Challenge posts, which is a great boost to lauch with.
