Webinar Replay - AMA with Jason & Tamera Dion
Hello Instructors!
Thank you to everyone who joined us earlier this week to tune into the AMA we had with Community Champions Jason & Tamera Dion. It's clear from the feedback we received that many of you found this webinar to be very helpful and inspiring!
We first kicked off the AMA with these 3 questions:
- Tell us how you got started on Udemy...
- Is there a single secret to your success?
- How have you been able to scale your business with Udemy?
Then we opened it up to the audience, and boy did they deliver. Jason and Tamera answered questions about building a team, marketing strategies, tool recommendations and so much more! Tune into this one-hour replay to learn how Jason & Tamera Dion turned their side-hustle into a 23-person team serving over 600k students & 1,000,000 enrollments in just 6 years.

Hey, @ChrystieV
, thank you so much for putting all these effort and love in what you guys do best, and my special regards to your partner too, @Bella
You guys are awesome. God bless you. And as for Jason and Tamera, I can't thank you guys enough for showing us love by sharing that much with us. God bless you moreand may your days be long, thank you. Please, I need answer to a question -- I asked during the webinar but I could see the endless list of questions popping up, which made me knew I was not going to get a response to it during the program.
But please I still need this question answered for decision making, please. I don't know if I can ask here.
The question:
How does one turn this Udemy venture into a company like Jason's and Tamera's, especially if one doesn't have someone close and trusted like Tamera to start with? As you know that most instructors start singlehandedly -- we are teachers, video makers, editors, marketers and so on.
I will really appreciate it if Jason and/or Tamera could suggest some other methods their friends apply besides sourcing via students as he mentioned
Thank you.

Jason & Tamera, thank you for your presentation and for sharing your knowledge and experience openly.
I've been on Udemy since 2014 and have been a full-time instructor since 2015. I have a team of four that help me out so that I can concentrate on new courses.
Spending an hour to watch your webinar replay was the best learning hour I had had for a very long time. You are awesome!
Thank you!

Hey @peter_dalmaris
,how are you today, man? Hope you are doing great. Please, I notice that you are already on the journey of running your business as a company if you are not already. I can see you have four guys working with you already. Please if I may ask, how did you choose the first supporting personnel, considering the technical know-how and trust, please? Or how would you advice one goes about recruiting for support -- may be we can call it some best SCOUTING ROUTE for coworkers as an instructor. Thank you.0 -
This webinar replay should be in must watch list. You will get wonderful inputs on how not to loose patience even if first course has not done that well, how to scale and many other pieces of useful advice. Thanks Jason & Tamera Dion.

Hello @Michael_D_Nwaogu
, to find my team, I used similar methods to those that Jason mentioned.1. One of my team graduated from some of my courses. He was keen to step in and help with QAs.
2. Another I found on Fiver. He started by designing a logo. But that was only one of his skills. He eventually wrote a book for me (on mathematics).
3. The other two I found on Upwork. I looked for specific skills in video/audio editing and programming. I searched a few people to find my current video editor (team member #3) and programming (electronics + programming, team member #4). #4 also co-produced a course.
I hope this helps.

This was an excellent webinar. However, unfortunately, it wasn't made downloadable so I could save it for future reference, unlike Larry Miller's webinar which was easily downloadable. I emailed Chrystie Vachon multiple times requesting for download link, but got no reply

🥴 this should be made downloadable too, except we are missing out on something.
