Udemy Awards

You know what Udemy needs? A physical custom made award…something similar to YouTube’s 100k + subscribers. It would be nice to have something shiny to put up on the wall!

Agreed. I've been suggesting this for years. When I surpassed a million dollars in sales, I didn't even get an email recognizing the occasion...

Hi @ChristianPa1994 and @MarkLassoff, thank you for sharing your feedback. I agree that a physical custom-made award is a great idea to celebrate and acknowledge instructor's accomplishments on the platform.

I will be happy to pass on this suggestion to the appropriate team for their consideration. However, please keep in mind that it may take some time for this idea to be implemented, and there may be practical and logistical considerations to be addressed.

In the meantime, I want to take this opportunity to share our Instructor Social Kit where our team has put together a collection of graphics to help you celebrate your Udemy accomplishments on your social and professional networks.

I'll make sure to share any updates about this feature request here in the community! Please let me know if you have any additional comments.

I concur, I think this is a great idea. The Learners Club is a nice token. I received a Udemy t-shirt for reaching 100k students, but to be honest, I haven't even worn the shirt yet.

Something similar to YouTube Plaques for 100k+ students or revenue milestones ($100k, $250k, $500k, $1 Million, etc.) that instructors can put up in their office, and have as part of their recording studio backdrop would be nice.

  • Hi Alton,

How soon after your 100k milestone did you receive your t-shirt? I reached 100k students yesterday but haven't even got as much as an acknowledgement from Udemy yet.

Hello @Malvik Vaghadia firstly, congratulations on this incredible milestone! This is an amazing accomplishment and we want to acknowledge and celebrate it with you!

We wanted to clarify the information above about our Learner Club Awards Program. This benefit is accessible only to Instructors who’ve been accepted in our Instructor Partner Program - we do offer different types of rewards (t-shirts and plaques) for learner milestones at different levels. Here’s a link to learn more about our Instructor Partnership Program - please know that we are not accepting new applicants at this time but we will make an announcement when the application is open again.

Once again, congratulations on reaching 100k students! Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.

Hi, just asking if the Udemy Awards is still up and running. I have just gone over the 150,000 students milestone. In five years I have never had a peep of any recognition from Udemy. I would like to celebrate, announce and market the event, anything official for Udemy would be nice, even a T shirt. Do I need to request this? and If so how? Any advice from someone who knows how the system works would be great.

    Hi @TJA,

Wow, congratulations on reaching the impressive milestone of 150,000 students!

We still have the Learners Club, and it’s now open to subscription instructors who’ve hit major milestones like 100k, 500k,
1 million, and even 5 million learners. Each level comes with its own swag to mark the achievement.

That said, the club is currently only available to instructors with at least one course included in Udemy Business, and who are in compliance with our legal terms and trust and safety policies..

If you do have a course in Udemy Business, please let me know—I’d be happy to add you to our exclusive Subs Club here in the community, where you can access the award form.

In the meantime, you can also access our milestone kit, which includes graphics you can use to celebrate your achievements on social media and support your marketing efforts.

Wishing you continued success on Udemy, and may you reach many more milestones along the way!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Hi @MarinaT Could you add me to Subs Club as well? I also have Udemy Business courses

This would be really cool, and could have commemorative images of various milestones available: 10,000, 50,000, 100,000.

It would be simple to add these as achievements to our profiles.

Where we could print and frame it ourselves, it would just be a single image with our profile name or whatever we choose to put.

And the milestone in question written as $100,000 in bold.

    Hi @Mike_on_Udemy,

Thank you for tagging me! I've just added you to the Subs Club. You should be able to access it by clicking on "User Groups" at the top of the page, then navigating to "Subs Club". If you don't see it right away, try logging out and back into the community space — that usually does the trick.

Let me know if you run into any issues. Wishing you a Happy Sunday!

Nice, so how does one join UFB? A student actually just tried to purchase one of my courses through his job but my course is not listed on UFB so he could not find it.

Hi @RonErez, when it comes to the criteria, one of the primary ways the Udemy Business team chooses courses is based on student feedback through things like reviews, refund rates, and reports of inappropriate content or technical issues. We may also consider things like how regularly the content is updated, how engaged learners are, and how responsive the instructor is.

We recommend visiting the Instructor Teaching Center, which has more information on how to optimize content for Udemy Business and the curation requirements.

    I hope this helps!

Hello @ElianaC Thank you so much for the quick response and for clarifying, I wasn't aware I had it available!

Could I please ask you about Udemy Instructor Partners, which I don't seem to be part of?

I have over 12k students (Geopolitics, International Relations and Critical Thinking), 4.60 average rating, 16 courses and have been on the platform since 2016.

What are the criteria for me to join this programme?

  • ScottDuffy

The Instructor Partner program is by invitation.

Hi @Kamil Thanks so much for your interest in partnering more closely with Udemy. We'll be offering a chance to express interest in joining the program at the end of the year. Stay tunned!

Hi @ElianaC, thank you for confirming, that's helpful.

Could I please also check whether courses are selected for UfB on a rolling basis, or are they selected at certain time(s) of the year?

  • ElianaC
    ElianaC Posts: 5,823 Udemy rank

Hi @Kami, Happy to clear this out for you! Courses are curated continuously on a rolling basis rather than at fixed times of the year. This means new courses can be added whenever they meet our high standards and criteria.

Thank you for clarifying, @ElianaC. I remember in the past I saw somewhere information that a course should have the minimum of 20 reviews to be considered - is that requirement still in place? I could not find it any more.

  • ElianaC
    ElianaC Posts: 5,823 Udemy rank

@Kamil Currently, our baseline criteria are a 4.4+ rating with at least 25 reviews. You can find more information here.
