Course completion options and certificates

I am really struggling to manage the completion aspect of our course for students. I understand that Certificates are generated automatically for all paid courses, but what does one look like? How can I preview my course certificate as an instructor?

It would be great to create a custom certificate but I've read that they are not possible. Is there a way to add links in the completion message or auto-redirect students who have completed our course to our website so that we can send them our own custom certificate? The information on the Udemy website doesn't have a lot of information on this topic.

I offer an additional certificate, a Green Belt, but for additional work. The student has to send me a portfolio of thirteen assignments that involve working with their team, problem solving, etc. I can tell whether they have really done the work by the assignments they send me. The additional certificate is very much appreciated by students who do the work.

You’re correct! Certificates of Completion are automatically generated when a student finishes a paid course. Please note that assignments do not count toward the completion score.

Currently, instructors cannot preview the Udemy certificate of completion for their course, but I’d like to give you an idea of what it looks like:

As @LawrenceMMiller mentioned you have to have the student somehow contact you (e.g. email, form, Q&A, whatever) to get them a custom certificate. I find that most of the time the Udemy-provided one works, but I have had a few folks ask for one directly from me.

I do an external certificate of completion for 1 course (because it needs more information).

In general I think the Udemy certificate of completion is horrible (U.G.L.Y. You ain't got no alibi you ugly! Eh! Hey! You ugly).

Does the certificate title take the course title provided in the course details by instructors..?

Hi @Romit_B Yes, the course title on your course landing page will be the same as the certificate of completion for the student.
