Hi guys! I posted 3 courses about a week ago - 1 for free and 2 paid courses. I got 252 sign-ups and a 5-star rating for the free course!!! I had the course on my personal website for almost a year with only 14 sign-ups! Now, I know this is only the free course, but I am truly inspired! I just wanted to share with you!! YAY!!!

    Hi @DanaProphet159 - Don't get too excited about the 252 signups for your free course. Unfortunately, most of those signups are not real students. They are bots that roam the Udemy landscape looking for free courses and then signup for them. I don't know why this happens or why Udemy allows it. But it is a fact.

    I remember when I published my first free course (about 4 years ago). The next day I had 300+ signups. I couldn't believe my good fortune. I then thought it was odd that not one of those signups actually was going through my course over the following weeks. I then realized what was happening. I have never published a free course since then.

    By the way, I'm not saying all 252 are fake signups. You might have a couple real students. But more than likely most are bogus, as I learned the hard way.
